David Eugene Cederberg

Biography

David Eugene Cederberg, 70, a resident of Elkins, WV, entered into eternal rest Sunday evening, July 11, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV.
He was born on Thursday, August 10, 1939 at Pittsburgh, PA a son of the late Jack Cederberg and Hazel Cowper Cederberg. On Saturday, June 15, 1963 at Columbia, PA, he was married to the former Rita Peters.
David had received a bachelor of science degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and two masters degrees, one from West Chester University and one from McDaniel University, and was a teacher having taught for 15 years in public schools before teaching at the Delaware School for the Deaf for 25 years. In 2004, David and Rita moved from Lancaster County, PA to Elkins, WV to be closer to their grandchildren.
Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by one sister, Diane Fletcher.
Left to cherish his memory along with his wife Rita of 47 years, are two daughters; Hillary Shryock and husband, Richard, Elkins, WV and Heather Carpenter, Washington, D.C., one sister Donna McGibbney and husband, George, Pittsburgh, PA, one grandson, Richard H. Shryock and one granddaughter, Rachel O. Shryock, both of Elkins, WV.
At David’s request, his body was cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday August 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at The Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church; 450 S. Randolph Avenue; Elkins, WV with the Rev. Dr. Peter Vial officiating.
