Obituary for Luther Mack "Mike" Spencer

Luther Mack “Mike” Spencer, 63, a resident of Elkins passed from this life Wednesday, March 6, 2019, in Terra Alta. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.

Mike was born Tuesday, November 22, 1955, in Summersville, a son of the late Silas Mack Spencer and Elsie Auxier Spencer.

Left to cherish his memory is the mother of his children, Anna Spencer, two children, Wendy June Spencer and Jody Michael Spencer and Hope, two grandchildren, Jody Michael Spencer II and Logan McNeil Spencer, all of SC, two siblings, Leesa Morral and husband Mark of Elkins and Steve Spencer and wife Lori of NJ, and several nieces and nephews.

Mike attended the schools of Randolph County. He had been employed at Rainbow Carpet in South Carolina for thirty years and upon returning to West Virginia, worked at Sonny’s Carpet. He liked to collect antique trains, radios, and guns. Mike always told people that he had a head full of useless trivia. He was a man with a great sense of humor who adored his children and grandchildren. Mike was a Christian man who thoroughly enjoyed reading his Bible.

The family’s request for cremation was honored. A graveside service is being planned and will be held at Brick Church Cemetery in Huttonsville.
